Build and provenance
Kingship is building her in China for delivery in 2027, a steel hull under an aluminium superstructure, drawn to explorer lines rather than dressed as one. Axis Group Yacht Design shaped the exterior and Barracuda Design finished the interiors, with Registro Italiano Navale classification covering the build.
Layout and accommodation
Six staterooms sleep 12 guests, including a full-beam Owner's Stateroom on the main deck, and nine crew keep the boat running across her four decks, room enough that a family trip does not mean everyone is on top of each other.
Performance and engineering
Twin Caterpillar engines rated at 1,350 hp apiece give the Kingship 45M Grand Explorer a 13.5-knot cruise and a 16.5-knot top speed. At 499 gross tonnes on a 44-metre hull, her full-displacement form favours range and comfort over sprint speed, and a 3,500-nautical-mile reach at cruising speed is built for distance rather than a short hop.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
