Twelve guests across six cabins is enough to bring two families together aboard the Kingship 45M Grand Explorer, and her full-displacement hull is built for the kind of unhurried, long-range cruising a group trip calls for rather than a fast weekend hop.

Build and provenance

Kingship is building her in China for delivery in 2027, a steel hull under an aluminium superstructure, drawn to explorer lines rather than dressed as one. Axis Group Yacht Design shaped the exterior and Barracuda Design finished the interiors, with Registro Italiano Navale classification covering the build.

Layout and accommodation

Six staterooms sleep 12 guests, including a full-beam Owner's Stateroom on the main deck, and nine crew keep the boat running across her four decks, room enough that a family trip does not mean everyone is on top of each other.

Performance and engineering

Twin Caterpillar engines rated at 1,350 hp apiece give the Kingship 45M Grand Explorer a 13.5-knot cruise and a 16.5-knot top speed. At 499 gross tonnes on a 44-metre hull, her full-displacement form favours range and comfort over sprint speed, and a 3,500-nautical-mile reach at cruising speed is built for distance rather than a short hop.
