Wally built Wallypower58 with three engines instead of the twin-engine layout that is the more conventional choice, and the decision runs through the rest of her design. Delivered in 2022, she is a 57-foot sports cruiser built around that single choice rather than styled to look like one.
Build and provenance
The triple Volvo Penta D8 IPS800 installation trades the depth a pair of larger engines would need for a shallower draft, at 1.7 metres, and spreads the load across three units instead of two, which gives her a spare engine's worth of redundancy that a twin-engine boat does not carry. Wallypower58 is a monohull built as a sports cruiser rather than a slower displacement design, and her 5-metre beam is set to suit the speed her engines are built for.
Layout and accommodation
Four guests sleep in two cabins aboard her, a compact count that keeps Wallypower58 a private, owner-driven boat rather than one built to carry a full charter party. The accommodation stays deliberately small so the cockpit and the open deck, where a boat like this is actually used, keep the space instead.
Performance and engineering
Her three Volvo Penta D8 IPS800 engines give her a cruising speed of 32 knots and a top speed of 38 knots, numbers that put her among yachts built for a fast, direct run across open water rather than a slow coastal potter. At those speeds the shallower draft her triple configuration buys her matters more, letting her work close to shore without the depth a heavier twin installation would need.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
