About Atomic
Two naval architecture houses and an interior designer shaped Atomic before VSY delivered her in 2020: Laurent Giles Naval Architects and Espen Øino drew the hull and profile, and Franck Darnet's studio dressed the interior. She holds an ABS classification with the ENVIRO notation for reduced environmental impact, and at 64 metres the result is a yacht built around a particular way of cruising rather than a general one.
Build and provenance
VSY delivered Atomic in 2020 at 1,101 gross tons, measuring 64 metres (209 feet), a monohull with a displacement profile. Her naval architecture came from Laurent Giles Naval Architects and Espen Øino, and Darnet Design handled the interior, working leather panelling, hand-knotted rugs and honed marble through the guest spaces. She carries ABS class with the ENVIRO notation, and her diesel-electric thrusters, together with a Kongsberg-supplied navigation and dynamic positioning system, let her move between anchorages quietly and without exhaust, a detail that points to a yacht built with sensitive diving grounds in mind.
Layout and accommodation
Seventeen guests sleep across six cabins, looked after by a crew of sixteen, a ratio that keeps a full table well served rather than stretched. The owner's suite sits apart on its own level, with a private office, a dressing room and a central tub, and balconies open to both sides. The other five cabins carry king beds or twins with ensuite showers, among them a lower-deck cabin that sleeps up to four children, and a lift connects the four guest decks.
Performance and engineering
Two Caterpillar engines give Atomic a 12-knot cruise, and her bulbous bow was shaped to improve seakeeping and fuel use over her sisters at VSY, extending her range to 5,300 nautical miles at that same 12 knots. She is built to cross open water quietly rather than to hurry between anchorages, in keeping with the diesel-electric thrusters and dynamic positioning that let her hold still without disturbing the water around her.
Where she lies and how to see her
Atomic lies in Genoa, Italy, ready to view. Boatcrowd sets up each viewing and is there for it; once an offer is accepted, we bring in the surveyor and arrange the sea trial ahead of handover.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
