About Avalon
Four cabins for eight guests, with a crew of five to run them, is the ratio behind Avalon's layout. Princess built her as the 35M in 2018, with the owner's suite set forward on the main deck on its own and the other three cabins together on the lower deck, close to the crew who look after everyone.
Build and provenance
Avalon is a Princess 35M with a GRP hull and superstructure, delivered in 2018. Bernard Olesinski drew her exterior lines and Princess Yachts International designed the interior. She holds RINA classification, a survey and inspection regime that keeps ongoing technical oversight on a yacht built for private use.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across the four cabins, with a crew of five to look after them, a ratio that leaves room for proper service rather than a stretched rota. The owner's suite sits forward on the main deck, with two walk-in wardrobes and a study; the other three cabins sit on the lower deck, including a second master. The flybridge carries sun loungers, an aft sofa and a round table for six under a hardtop, with room for up to twelve people; in the saloon, the dining area seats eight and the galley beside it is fitted with Miele appliances.
Performance and engineering
Two 2,450 hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, with 1,007 hours recorded between them, give Avalon a cruising speed of twenty-three knots and a top speed of twenty-five: a motor yacht built for a steady passage rather than outright pace. Fin stabilisers work both under way and at anchor, and with an extended range at economical speed, she is built to cross open water rather than hop between nearby anchorages.
On deck and at anchor
The flybridge's hardtop, sun loungers and bar make it the yacht's main outdoor room, backed by the hydraulic swim platform that lowers to the waterline for swimming and tender access. A tender garage sits aft, and the fin stabilisers double as an anchor-comfort feature, cutting roll at rest as well as under way.
Where she lies and how to see her
Avalon lies in Nice, France. Boatcrowd sets up every viewing and is there for it, and once a buyer's offer is accepted we bring in the surveyor and organise the sea trial that follows. From there, the handover runs through us to close.
