About Provocateur
Built and never used: that was Provocateur's story before her present owner ever saw her. Mondomarine completed the 50-metre yacht in 2016 for a client who never took her to sea, and when the current owner bought her in 2023, she still carried barely any hours on her engines. He sent her straight into a refit before offering her through Boatcrowd.
Build and provenance
Mondomarine built her as a custom, one-off displacement motor yacht: a monohull with an aluminium hull, measuring 50 metres, 164 feet, at 499 gross tons. She was designed and finished as a single commission rather than a production model.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep across six cabins, and a crew of eleven runs the boat, close to one crew member for every guest. Eight heads serve the accommodation across those six cabins.
Performance and engineering
Twin MTU engines give her a 13-knot cruise and 19 knots at full power. As a displacement motor yacht she is built for steady, comfortable passages rather than top speed, a hull shape suited to covering distance at an anchor-to-anchor pace.
Recent works
In 2023, her new owner had the yacht repainted and reworked the interior soon after buying her, rather than living with the boat as delivered. That refit is what a buyer sees and surveys today, seven years on from her 2016 build.
Where she lies and how to see her
Provocateur lies in Monaco. Boatcrowd sets up every viewing and comes along in person, and handling continues after an accepted offer with a survey and then a sea trial ahead of completion. She is also in our charter fleet, with a programme that runs from St Tropez across France, Monaco and Italy, so a buyer can spend a week aboard through Boatcrowd before deciding to buy.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
