Six cabins for twelve guests is a spacious ratio for a 42-metre yacht, and Song of Songs carries a design pedigree to match: Heysea built her in 2022 to a hull and interior drawn by VYD Studio, the Italian design house behind her lines inside and out. The result is a yacht meant for both private cruising and charter, without either use crowding the other.
Build and provenance
She is built on the Asteria 139 platform, a joint programme between Heysea and VYD Studio that shows in how closely her exterior and interior match. At 42 metres she carries an owner's suite on the upper deck with its own aft-facing private terrace, a layout choice that sets the owner's space apart from the guest cabins below. Song of Songs is a flybridge motor yacht on a monohull, built with a specification meant to serve private owners and charter guests alike.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep across six suites, including the owner's cabin and a convertible cabin that can be set up to suit the trip. A crew of nine runs the yacht, a high ratio for her size that points to a fully staffed, hands-off style of cruising. With an 8.5-metre beam on a 42-metre length, the interior carries real width as well as length, giving the six cabins and the shared spaces room to breathe.
Performance and engineering
She cruises at 15 knots and reaches 19 knots at full speed, figures suited to covering distance between anchorages rather than racing to them. With a 1.9-metre draft, she can reach shallower anchorages along the way.
Where she lies and how to see her
Song of Songs lies in Thailand. Boatcrowd will arrange a viewing and be there for it, and once an offer is accepted we bring in the surveyor and set up the sea trial that follows. She also sits in our charter fleet, with a programme that runs across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Maldives and the Seychelles, so a buyer can spend a week aboard before signing anything.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
