About Seaxplorer
Her hull is Ice-Class steel, built for waters a standard cruising yacht could not enter, and above it sits an aluminium superstructure to keep her weight in check. Azure Naval Architects and H2 Yacht Design worked on her, and Damen is building her as one of its SeaXplorer 60 series, due for delivery in 2028.
Build and provenance
Seaxplorer is a monohull explorer yacht built to Damen's SeaXplorer 60 design, with an Ice-Class steel hull below the waterline and an aluminium superstructure above it. Designed by Azure Naval Architects and H2 Yacht Design. Delivery is due in 2028.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests will sleep across six cabins, including an owner's suite, while a crew of seventeen live and work in their own quarters, a ratio built for round-the-clock expedition service rather than a light weekend crew. Her interiors run across three decks.
Performance and engineering
She cruises at 12 knots and reaches 14.5 knots flat out: speeds set for efficient, long passages rather than a fast crossing. A helideck certified for a four-tonne aircraft and twin tender bays for her tenders and jet skis mean she can support an expedition without returning to port for stores.
On deck and at anchor
A dedicated expedition store keeps dive gear and toys organised, and a swim platform opens her to the water at anchor. A gym keeps exercise part of the daily routine at sea.
Where she lies and how to see her
Seaxplorer is being built in the Netherlands and is offered for sale ahead of her 2028 delivery. Boatcrowd arranges viewings at the yard during her build and will be there for her sea trial once she is complete; survey follows any accepted offer, as with any yacht.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
