About Cape Scott 137

A semi-custom hull under construction is the clearest sign of a buyer's say in the outcome. Cape Scott 137 is being built by Conrad for a 2028 delivery, a 42-metre displacement yacht for distant, extended cruising rather than a week in the Mediterranean. At this stage of her build, the guest layout and interior features are still open to the person who commissions her.

Build and provenance

Conrad is building her as a semi-custom project, with room for a buyer to adjust the layout and specify certain features before completion. She also carries an Ice Class notation, a detail that points to a yacht meant for cooler, more remote waters rather than a single Mediterranean season. At 450 gross tons on a monohull displacement platform, Cape Scott 137 carries the volume for long stretches at sea instead of short hops between anchorages. She is being built in Poland, and her 2028 delivery means a buyer who commits now still has a say in how she is finished.

Layout and accommodation

Six double cabins sleep 12 guests, including an Owner's suite and a VIP stateroom, each with a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom. With 42 metres of length and a beam of 8.9 metres, the remaining four cabins have room for proper proportions rather than an afterthought.

Performance and engineering

Two CAT engines, rated at 1,014 horsepower each, give her a cruising speed of 13 knots and a top speed of 15 knots, modest figures that mark her out as a passage-maker rather than a yacht built for speed. Zero-speed stabilisers hold her steady at anchor, useful on a yacht meant for remote stops rather than marina-hopping. A draught of 2.5 metres keeps her out of the shallowest anchorages while leaving most coastlines open to her.

On deck and at anchor

On deck there is a swimming pool and a deck jacuzzi, and below a gym and a sauna and steam room give guests a way to stay active over a longer voyage. Scuba diving gear is carried aboard too, in keeping with a yacht built for remote cruising grounds rather than a week at anchor.

Where she lies and how to see her

Poland is where Cape Scott 137 is taking shape, her 2028 handover still some way off. A visit to see her build in progress, or a sister hull already afloat, is something Boatcrowd can set up and attend with you; once a buyer's offer is accepted, the survey and sea trial follow before she changes hands.
