Sanlorenzo 64 Steel Motor Yacht
About Sanlorenzo 64 Steel
A yacht not yet afloat can still carry a clear sense of provenance, and that is the case with the Sanlorenzo 64 Steel. She is under construction in Italy for delivery in 2028: sixty-four metres of steel and aluminium displacement motor yacht, with a gross tonnage of 1,300. She is a new-build order rather than a yacht changing hands, so a buyer is choosing a yard and a design rather than a history.
Build and provenance
The 64 Steel is a monohull displacement design due in 2028, with a steel and aluminium build and exterior styling credited to Officina Italiana Design. For a buyer, an in-build yacht from an established yard means the specification is still open to review before delivery, rather than fixed by a previous owner.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests are accommodated across six cabins, with a crew of eighteen to run the yacht around them. That crew-to-guest ratio, eighteen for twelve, points to a yacht built to run with full service rather than a lean delivery crew.
Performance and engineering
Power comes from two CAT 3516 C engines at 2,375 hp apiece, giving a 14.5-knot cruise and a 17-knot top speed. The modest gap between those two figures fits her displacement style: a yacht built to cover distance efficiently rather than to sprint.
Where she lies and how to see her
The Sanlorenzo 64 Steel is under construction in Italy, where she is due for delivery in 2028. Boatcrowd arranges yard viewings ahead of delivery and attends them with a buyer, and once an offer is accepted we coordinate survey and sea trial.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
