Coron Itineraries: Day Charters and Multi-Day Routes
Coron’s Calamian Islands offer a unique blend of WWII history, volcanic landscapes and remote island beauty. The itineraries below are designed to showcase Coron’s full range of experiences and can be combined with El Nido itineraries for a comprehensive Palawan charter.
Day Charter Routes from Coron
Coron Island Lakes and Lagoons
Cruise from Coron Town to Kayangan Lake (the crystal-clear volcanic crater) and Twin Lagoon in the morning, snorkel Siete Pecados before lunch on board, then visit Maquinit Hot Springs for a late-afternoon soak. Return to Coron Town for dinner. A full-day immersion in Coron’s most iconic natural wonders.
Wreck Diving Day
For certified divers: two morning wreck dives (the Irako at 42 metres and the Okikawa Maru at 26 metres are the favourites), surface interval with lunch on the aft deck, then an afternoon dive on the Lusong Gunboat (or a snorkel for non-divers). Return to Coron Town by late afternoon. Six hours underwater in some of Asia’s finest wreck-diving waters.
3-Day Coron Yacht Charter Itinerary: Wrecks, Lakes and Islands
Day 1: Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Siete Pecados
Board at Coron Town and cruise to Coron Island. Climb the boardwalk to Kayangan Lake for a swim in the crystal-clear volcanic crater, then cruise to Twin Lagoon and swim through the passage between the two interconnected bodies of warm, turquoise water. After lunch on the aft deck, snorkel the dense coral gardens of Siete Pecados. Anchor in Coron Bay for the night.
Day 2: WWII Shipwreck Diving and Maquinit Hot Springs
Morning wreck dives on the Irako (42 metres, penetrable holds) and the Okikawa Maru (26 metres, massive hull). Non-divers snorkel the Lusong Gunboat at 3–5 metres. Lunch on board, then take the tender ashore to Maquinit Hot Springs for a sunset soak in the 39–40°C saltwater pools. Dinner on the aft deck: sinigang na hipon, adobo pork belly and leche flan.
Day 3: Barracuda Lake, Banana Island and Farewell
Early morning swim in Barracuda Lake – feel the dramatic thermocline shift from 28°C to 38°C as you descend through the halocline. Cruise to Banana Island for a final snorkel over vibrant coral (giant clams, blue starfish, green sea turtles). Farewell lunch on the aft deck – whole grilled lapu-lapu, halo-halo and Philippine craft beer. Return to Coron Town by mid-afternoon. This 3-day route pairs with the 3-day El Nido itinerary for a 6-day Palawan charter, or with the 4-day El Nido–Linapacan route for a comprehensive 7-day voyage.
4-Day Coron Yacht Charter Itinerary: The Full Calamian Experience
Day 1: Coron Island’s Lagoons and Lakes
Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, and Barracuda Lake in a single day. Siete Pecados for an afternoon snorkel, then Maquinit Hot Springs at sunset. Overnight in Coron Bay.
Day 2: WWII Shipwrecks
A full day of wreck diving: the Irako and Akitsushima in the morning, the Kogyo Maru and Lusong Gunboat in the afternoon. Non-divers enjoy the shallow wrecks and reef snorkelling. Dinner on the aft deck after a day immersed in Pacific War history.
Day 3: Culion Island and Black Island
Cruise south-west to Culion Island (12 nautical miles). Explore the Spanish-era fortress, the leper-colony museum and the stone churches. Dive Culion’s pristine walls in the morning, then cruise to Black Island (18 nautical miles north-west) for the cave, the freshwater lagoon and beach-side lunch. Return to Coron Bay for the night.
Day 4: Banana Island, Malcapuya and Farewell
A day of quintessential Philippine beach-hopping. Snorkel Banana Island’s reef in the morning, then cruise to Malcapuya Island – a long crescent of white sand with turquoise shallows and zero crowds. Your chef sets up a farewell beach lunch, and the afternoon is yours: swim, paddleboard, or simply lie in the sand. Return to Coron Town by late afternoon. Combine this 4-day route with the 3-day El Nido itinerary for a 7-day Palawan charter that covers both archipelagos without repeating a stop.
