An ice-class hull option is available on Cape Scott 114, aimed at owners who want a cruising range beyond calm, warm-weather routes. Cape Scott Yard is building her now for delivery in 2027, with the brief aimed at long-range exploring rather than marina-hopping.

Build and provenance

Cape Scott Yard is building the 35-metre Cape Scott 114 for delivery in 2027. Her hull can be specified to an ice-class option, built to Lloyd's Register classification, and is divided into six watertight, fireproof compartments, engineering aimed at margin rather than bare compliance. The design team behind her has worked together over a 20-year period, the yard says, the kind of continuity that tends to show in details rather than in headline specifications.

Layout and accommodation

Ten guests are planned across five cabins, and a lift between decks is included, useful on a yacht built for longer trips where guests will use every deck.

Performance and engineering

Caterpillar or MTU engines are specified, with the choice not yet finalised, for a 13-knot cruise and a 15-knot top speed, a pace built for covering distance steadily rather than for fast passages. At 350 gross tonnes on an 8.1-metre beam and a 2.5-metre draught, she carries the tonnage of a yacht built to go further rather than faster.

On deck and at anchor

A swimming pool that doubles as a jacuzzi is fitted on board, and a gym is planned for days that do not include a stop ashore.
