About Nexus
Sunseeker built Nexus in 2019, and she was refitted in 2022, so a buyer takes on a yacht with recent work already done rather than work still to plan. At 40 metres and 343 gross tonnes, she is built in GRP from hull to superstructure. She lies in Pietra Ligure, on the Italian coast, ready for a new owner to take on.
Build and provenance
Sunseeker delivered Nexus in 2019, and she was refitted in 2022. Both hull and superstructure are GRP, a single-material build that keeps her weight down for her length. A buyer takes on a hull and superstructure of one material rather than two, which simplifies what a surveyor has to check before completion.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests are accommodated across five cabins, with a crew of eight aboard to run the yacht day to day. Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
