HS 80 Motor Yacht
About HS 80
Buying HS 80 is not buying a yacht that happens to be efficient, it is buying a different daily rhythm aboard. Hystream built her around hydrogen-electric propulsion, bifacial solar panels and solid-state energy storage, and delivered her in 2025 as a working answer to what a zero-emission motor yacht can look like. For a buyer, the draw is less about the fuel dock and more about power drawn from the sun and stored hydrogen rather than diesel.
Build and provenance
She is a monohull motor yacht from Hystream, built on a displacement hull rather than a planing one, which suits a boat designed to run efficiently rather than fast. At 25 metres, 82 feet, she has an 11.5-metre beam and a 1-metre draught. Her solar panels gather light from both faces of each panel, not just the top, adding to the power she makes without a trip to a fuel berth.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep in four cabins, with a crew of four aboard to run both the yacht and her energy systems. The interior favours a modern finish chosen with sustainability in view rather than heavy stone or lacquered surfaces, in keeping with a boat built around an idea rather than tradition.
Performance and engineering
Propulsion is hybrid: an electric drive handles most running, backed by a diesel engine for higher speeds and extended range. She cruises at 8 knots and reaches 16 at full power, speeds suited to endurance and quiet running rather than covering distance fast. Navigation software plots the route and watches for other traffic, working alongside the crew rather than in place of them.
On deck and at anchor
A beach club opens at the stern and a spa pool sits on deck, so a boat that generates its own power still gives guests the simplest way to spend time on the water.
Where she lies and how to see her
Boatcrowd arranges every viewing of HS 80 in person and attends each one with you. Once an offer is accepted, we bring in the surveyor and set the sea trial before anything is finalised.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
