Ordering a yacht before she exists is its own kind of provenance question, and that is where a buyer stands with the FPY 120. Fountaine Pajot has scheduled her delivery for 2028. Buying in now means shaping her rather than inheriting someone else's choices.
Build and provenance
She measures 35 metres with a 14.8-metre beam and a 2.8-metre draught, dimensions the yard has fixed even before it settles every interior choice. Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design has drawn her exterior lines, and the build is being carried out to commercial-class compliance with Bureau Veritas, a standard buyers of yachts this size use to judge a hull before it is finished. Because she has not yet been built, there is no refit history and no survey record to weigh, only a specification to check against what gets delivered.
Layout and accommodation
The stateroom count is not fixed yet: buyers can currently choose between four, five or six cabins, with room found for eight crew to run the boat. That flexibility is the point of ordering early. A buyer with a young family and one who entertains in large groups can end up with two very different yachts built to the same design.
Performance and engineering
Two MAN engines will power her, though cruising and top speed figures have not been released for a design still on the drawing board. What is fixed is the format: a sailing catamaran built for the kind of stability under power that comes with two hulls, whatever the eventual numbers turn out to be.
Where she lies and how to see her
The FPY 120 is being built in France, where Fountaine Pajot's yard will deliver her in 2028. Boatcrowd arranges visits to the yard during the build and attends them with you, and once an offer on her build slot is accepted, a survey and sea trial happen in the normal way ahead of handover.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
