Tankoa T450

At 450 gross tons on a 45-metre hull, the Tankoa T450 is being built now for delivery in 2028, to a design by Cassetta. For a buyer, that means space to live in rather than just a figure on a spec sheet.

Build and provenance

Tankoa Yachts is building her in steel and aluminium, a displacement monohull rather than a planing hull. She is due for delivery in 2028, so a buyer takes her with no ownership history to weigh, just a builder's specification to check at the delivery survey.

Layout and accommodation

Twelve guests sleep across six cabins, with nine crew aboard to run the yacht: close to one crew member for every guest, service that does not need to hurry between staterooms. The main saloon sits at the centre of the layout, with the guest deck reading as one continuous space.

Performance and engineering

Two MAN D2862L engines rated at 1429 hp give her a 14-knot cruise and a 15-knot top speed, figures that suit a displacement hull built to cover distance steadily rather than to plane. A hybrid propulsion system is offered as an option, which would lower consumption and keep noise and vibration down for owners who want quiet running at anchor or on passage.
