Build and provenance

She is a Sanlorenzo SL 86, delivered in 2017, with interior furniture from Poltrona Frau and Minotti through the salon and cabins. Large glazing runs along the hull sides, so the salon keeps its sea view even once the party has moved indoors, and the stairway up to the flybridge is framed in glass rather than boxed in, keeping the sightline open as guests move between decks.

Layout and accommodation

Four cabins sleep eight guests, with a crew of three aboard to look after them. At 27 metres she is compact enough that everyone aboard, guests and crew, is always a short walk from where the day is happening, whether that is the flybridge or the swim platform.

Performance and engineering

Two MTU 12V2000 M96L engines of 1,947 hp each give her a 27-knot cruise and a 32-knot top speed, quick enough to close the distance between anchorages inside an afternoon rather than losing the day to the passage. She also carries stabilisers.

On deck and at anchor

The flybridge carries the barbecue and doubles as the main entertaining deck, and underwater lights add to the evening scene once the sun goes down. A tender lives in her own garage rather than on a crane, a watermaker and a dedicated generator keep the boat self-sufficient off the grid, and a wine cooler and the hydraulic gangway round out the details that make staying aboard, not just visiting, comfortable. Wi-Fi and satellite television keep the outside world reachable from the water.
