Baglietto XO 50

Two CAT C32 engines are the whole engineering case for the Baglietto XO 50: modest power turned into range rather than speed, built for an explorer meant to cross oceans, not sprint between anchorages. Baglietto is building her in Italy, with delivery due in 2029.

She is built to an explorer brief: a steel hull chosen for sea-keeping, and a bow made sturdier and sharper, so ropework and crew manoeuvres stay easier when weather turns. She is being laid up now, in Italy, for delivery in 2029.

Layout and accommodation

Twelve guests sleep across six cabins aboard the XO 50, with a crew of nine to run her: a crew-to-guest ratio built for long stretches at sea rather than a short coastal run.

Performance and engineering

Two CAT C32 engines give her a 12-knot cruise and a 16-knot top speed, modest figures that suit a hull built to cover distance steadily rather than arrive quickly. At 499 gross tonnes, with a 9-metre beam and a 2.7-metre draught, she is built to carry that distance in comfort.

On deck and at anchor

An observation deck on the upper level gives guests a lookout over the water as she crosses, a feature built into the explorer layout rather than added on afterwards.

The XO 50 is under construction in Italy, with delivery due in 2029. Boatcrowd represents the sale and can arrange a yard visit while she is built; survey and sea trial follow once an offer is accepted, ahead of handover.
