Mar is an FB272 from Benetti, a 108-metre monohull built to a displacement hull for long, steady passages rather than sprint speed. She was delivered in 2020 and has since completed her five-year survey, so she sits in class rather than carrying an open item on a surveyor's list. At 17 metres of beam and a 4.6-metre draught, she has the proportions of a yacht built to cross oceans, not just coastlines.

Layout and accommodation

Twenty-seven guests are accommodated across thirteen cabins, cared for by a crew of thirty-seven, a ratio that points to full service rather than a lean charter crew. The owner runs the length of a deck in a full-beam suite, with its own office and dressing space set apart from the guest cabins. Seven further cabins on the main deck are fitted as VIPs, each with its own ensuite, so guests travelling as couples are not sharing a bathroom down a corridor.

Performance and engineering

She cruises at 10 knots and reaches 16.5 knots at full power, speeds that suit a diesel-electric plant built for endurance rather than a sprint. A touch-and-go helipad sits forward on the bow, so guests and crew can arrive without a tender transfer when the itinerary calls for it.
