Yacht charter Cebu positions you at the heart of the Visayan Islands, a 225-kilometre-long island flanked by some of the richest marine biodiversity in the Coral Triangle, where thresher sharks spiral at dawn off Malapascua, vast sardine balls swirl in the shallows of Moalboal’s Pescador Island, and whale sharks glide through the plankton-rich waters of Oslob. Local knowledgeThe amihan trade season unlocks Palawan's lagoons and El Nido's karst cathedrals: seven thousand islands, most without another yacht in sight.
Holidays and school breaks that suit these waters
For the peak November to April season, six to eight months’ lead time is advisable, particularly over the Christmas and Sinulog festival (January) periods when demand surges. The May to June shoulder offers excellent diving conditions with broader yacht availability and can often be secured four to five months ahead, frequently at noticeably softer rates.
Absolutely, inter-island cruising is the Visayas’ great strength. Bohol lies just 10 nautical miles across the Cebu Strait, and Siquijor, Apo Island, and Malapascua are all within comfortable day-sail range. Your Boatcrowd broker can design a seamless multi-island itinerary that mixes world-class diving, cultural shore excursions, and remote beach anchorages.
The base fee covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard on-board equipment. Fuel, provisions, beverages, marine-sanctuary fees, and specialist dive-guide services are funded through the APA (30 to 35% of the charter fee). Philippine VAT at 12% applies to the base rate, and any unused APA is refunded at the end of the voyage.
Very much so. The calm, sheltered waters between Cebu and Bohol provide gentle cruising ideal for younger guests, and snorkelling with sea turtles off Apo Island or watching the tiny tarsiers of Bohol’s forests captivate children of every age. Crews are experienced at adapting menus, daily pace, and shore excursions to suit families travelling with young children, and the warm Filipino welcome makes everyone feel at home.
Around 15 charter yachts access Cebu as part of the wider Philippine fleet, including 68′-98′ motor yachts, 100′+ superyachts, and 55′+ catamarans with shallow drafts suited to the reef-fringed channels between the Visayan islands. November to May is peak season, calm inter-island seas, 30 to 32°C sunshine, and underwater visibility of 20 to 30 metres on the outer reefs. The shoulder months of June and October bring warmer water, fewer dive boats at the most popular sites, and gentler pricing that makes these quieter weeks outstanding value for experienced divers. Daily rates start from approximately $3,000/day for a well-appointed motor yacht, climbing beyond $12,000/day for a superyacht, plus 12% Philippine VAT and 30 to 35% APA for fuel, provisions, and marine-sanctuary fees. Cebu’s unique appeal is its role as the Visayas’ natural hub, Mactan-Cebu International Airport connects to every major Asian gateway, and from the island’s sheltered eastern shore you can reach Bohol’s chocolate hills, Siquijor’s mystical forests, and Malapascua’s thresher-shark dives in a single, varied charter week without ever repeating an anchorage or running short of extraordinary things to see beneath the surface.
