Monte Carlo Yachts built BAYC Asia in 2015 to the MCY 86 design, a monohull with a fibreglass hull, materials that keep upkeep and insurance straightforward for an owner. Her 5.7-metre beam on a twenty-six-metre length gives the flybridge layout the width its deck spaces need.

Layout and accommodation

Four cabins sleep eight guests, a count suited to an owner who uses her with family and close friends rather than large charter groups. As a flybridge model she carries an upper deck above the saloon, adding open-air living space to the accommodation below.

Performance and engineering

BAYC Asia cruises at twenty-four knots and reaches twenty-nine knots flat out, speeds that turn a run between anchorages into a matter of an hour or two rather than a full day under way. For an owner, that range covers both an easy cruise and a faster crossing when the schedule calls for it.
