Build and provenance

She is hull one in the Darwin Class 102 series, a steel-hulled, aluminium-superstructure monohull built to RINA class. A full-time crew has kept her since new, and she carries a Cayman Islands flag, chosen for worldwide cruising rather than a single country's waters.

Layout and accommodation

Twelve guests sleep across five cabins: an owner's cabin forward on the lower deck, two VIP cabins aft and two twin cabins amidships. A crew of seven works from four cabins, including a captain's cabin behind the wheelhouse on the upper deck, keeping the bridge team close to the helm around the clock.

Performance and engineering

Twin 680 hp Caterpillar C18 engines cruise her at 10 knots and reach 13 knots flat out, matched to a 3,800-nautical-mile range from 40,000 litres of fuel, a pairing built for long ocean legs rather than short hops between marinas. Two 50 kW generators run in automatic parallel to cover hotel loads without a hand on the switch, and electric fin stabilisers work both at anchor and underway to keep her steady in either state.

On deck and at anchor

A sundeck jacuzzi, a bar and a dining table for guests sit above a swim platform at the stern, with teak decks running underfoot and underwater lighting turning the waterline into an evening feature. A lift connects the decks, so moving between the sundeck and the lower deck asks nothing of the knees.
