Ice II

Two 1,600 hp MTU 10V 2000 M96L engines set the pace for Ice II, giving her a 12-knot cruise and an 18-knot top end, numbers that put her in displacement-leaning cruising rather than a planing sprint. Horizon built her in 2019 as an FD87, a 27-metre flybridge motor yacht at 187 gross tons.

Ice II is a monohull flybridge yacht from Horizon, delivered new in 2019 with a beam of 7.1 metres and a draft of 1.9 metres. Those dimensions, set against her 187 gross tons, describe a boat built for stability at sea rather than for shoal-draft cruising close to shore.

Layout and accommodation

Five cabins sleep ten guests, with a crew of four looking after them. The beach club is housed in the garage space and can also serve as a crew mess.

Zero-speed stabilisers and at-anchor stabilisers work together, so she sits level whether under way or moored for the night.

On deck and at anchor

The sun deck and outdoor bar are on the upper deck, and a hydraulic swim platform lowers straight to the water for swimming and tender loading. Below, a tender garage keeps toys out of sight until needed, and underwater lights create a night effect. Satellite TV, video-on-demand, WiFi, a Bluetooth docking station and air conditioning cover the everyday comforts throughout Ice II.
